Allocation entry

A preset journal entry that is repeatedly applied to distribute revenues or expenses across multiple accounts or dimensions. These allocation entries automate the process of apportioning amounts based on predefined drivers and calculations. For instance, an allocation could divide costs across departments based on relative headcount percentages or allocate revenue to business units based on sales volume. This eliminates repetitive manual journaling for routine allocations.
