Affirmation

Verbal or written declarations from individuals in relevant process roles confirming the presence or absence of practices that satisfy the intent and value of model standards. Affirmations are elicited through controlled interactions with the appraisal team, such as:

  • Oral affirmations obtained via interviews, presentations, demonstrations, interactive chat/whiteboard responses.
  • Written affirmations received through email, instant messages, documentation, or systems data.

The goal is to gather evidence from process stakeholders on implementation of processes that address model practices. This comes directly from people responsible for following, supporting, or enabling those processes in their roles.
